Orissa, Andhra share points as rain spoil match

Orissa and Andhra collected one point each from their two-day group ‘A’ league match of the All-India Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament at MRF Ground in Chennai today. The match ended in a draw after play in the second day was abandoned due to rain.

Earlier on the opening day, Orissa were all out for 223. In reply, Andhra were 16 for no loss when stumps were drawn for the day. Electing to bat, Orissa rode on Niranjan Behera’s half-century to compile the competitive total. G Sankar Rao was the most successful Andhra bowler, bagging four wickets for 78 runs.
